# Are students allowed to use mobile phones during school hours?

HKA’s device use policy specifies that mobile devices should be kept at home, or stored securely in a bag or locker during school hours.

If students are found to be using their smart devices during the school day they will be subject to escalating consequences starting with removal for the remainder of the lesson and a conversation with the teacher, through to confiscation and the implementation of a device use plan created and agreed upon by student, parents and the school.

These measures aim to hold students accountable while supporting them to learn and grow from their mistakes.
