Mid Autumn Festival is a special event for our community each year and provides students with an opportunity to develop a greater awareness of our rich host country culture. Students inquire into the significance of moon legends, mooncakes, lanterns and family reunions and share their learning with peers. This year, we had to reimagine our usual carnival setting and shifted to online and blended formats, with students sharing their understanding through videos, skits and small group experiences that provided insights into the importance of the Mid Autumn celebrations and gave students an opportunity to practice their Mandarin in meaningful and engaging ways.
