This week has been a particularly significant one for our Grade 12 students, whose final day of instruction was today. The afternoon came to a close with one of our traditions, the Grade 12 Goodbye Assembly, when the Secondary School celebrates the contributions of our soon-to-be graduates and wishes them well in their upcoming exams, which will take place from Monday 1st May to Friday 19th May.
Since the start of the calendar year, our Grade 12s have been receiving offers for post-secondary studies and colleges and universities around the world. We are pleased to share the university acceptances to date for the Class of 2023, which include institutions such as the University of Oxford, King’s College London and University of York in the UK, Berklee College of Music, Sarah Lawrence College and University of California, Berkeley in the US and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Hong Kong. Students who wish to study in the Southern Hemisphere will make applications after the conclusion of the academic year, and some also will decide that they want to defer offers and take a gap year.
As you can see, HKA students are well supported in identifying and applying to institutions that will challenge them to continue to grow and best support their future pathways to individual excellence. For all of our Grade 12 students, they will be eagerly looking forward to their next significant milestone, the Class of 2023 Graduation Ceremony, which will take place on Thursday 25th May.
