The HKA Diploma is earned through the earning of credits from Grades 9-12. Starting in Grade 9, each semester course that a student takes is worth 0.5 credit. A student needs to earn a minimum of 23 credits to graduate from HKA which are distributed across different subject areas. The distribution of these credits has been developed in alignment to meet or exceed the minimum requirements for application to North American universities and colleges.

The HKA Diploma can be complemented by the completion of IB Diploma Certificates or through candidacy for the IB Diploma in Grades 11 and 12.

In order to earn an HKA Diploma, students must complete the following credit requirements.
