How long does the admissions process take?

What is the application deadline?
Last Updated: July 27, 2026HKA has rolling admissions and we accept applications all year round. You can apply from up to one year before the preferred enrolment date.
We are moving mid-year. Can my child start once the school year has begun?
Last Updated: July 27, 2026Yes, admissions is on a rolling basis. While most new students start in August — with a smaller cohort starting after our Winter Break in January — students may also enrol at other times during the school year as long as there is space available.
Can I apply if I don’t have a Hong Kong visa yet?
Last Updated: July 27, 2026Yes, you can apply even if you don’t have a visa. However, please note that students must possess a valid visa before their first day of school. Hong Kong Academy does not provide sponsorship for visas. It is the full responsibility of the parents to secure the visa.
Do you offer boarding facilities?
Last Updated: July 27, 2026HKA does not have any boarding facilities. Students must live with either one or both of their parents. If a student is not living with their parents, a legal guardianship must be established and enrolment must be approved by the Head of School.
Do you have school buses available? What areas do they serve?
Last Updated: July 27, 2026Yes, our school bus will service areas where we have a critical mass of students. We have buses for students living in Sai Kung, Clearwater Bay, Kowloon, and across Hong Kong Island. Please see the Bus section or additional information.
Can parents get involved with the school?

Do you have a debenture?
Last Updated: July 27, 2026A debenture exempts one student from paying the annual capital levy. Upon departure from HKA, a debenture can be sold via the school’s debenture resale process. Families who do not buy a debenture are required to pay the annual capital levy.
Do you have financial aid available?

Will you accept children who speak little or no English?

Will you accept children who have learning differences and need additional support?
Last Updated: July 27, 2026HKA is an inclusive school that integrates students requiring additional support into the mainstream classroom. Please note we have limited spaces available. Admission for students needing additional support is based on the same requirements as all other students, with the expectation that they will be successful in the mainstream classroom.

What sports are available for students?

What languages do you offer?
