The IB MYP is a broad, inquiry-based framework through which students develop as reflective and self-directed learners.
Grades 6 – 8: All students follow the eight subject curriculum of the IB MYP in Grades 6 – 8. Subjects are Mathematics, English Language and Literature, Language Acquisition ( Mandarin or Spanish ), Design, Physical and Health Education, as well as integrated Science, Individuals and Societies, and Arts classes.
All students attend daily “Flex” classes, which allow them to explore new skills, create student-led projects, and develop their learning profile with a bespoke schedule within a consistent framework.
Grades 9 – 10: Science is split into specific units of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Systems and Societies. During Individuals and Societies classes they study specific Geography, History, Economics, and Psychology units. In the Arts classes students can specialise in Visual Art, Drama and Music and, where appropriate, they can study Advanced Mathematics classes. Flex classes continue and students begin to the develop their Global Citizens Diploma portfolio.
Further enrichment: There is also an extensive co-curricular programme with more than 80% of secondary school students playing for at least of our league sports team, 25%+ getting involved in the secondary school musical and many choosing to attend or initiate student-led clubs and join Student Council.
